ADI's ADF5610 is a wideband synthesizer with integrated VCO. The device's outstanding performance and flexibility make it ideal for a variety of market applications including aerospace and defense, microwave point-to-point links, wireless infrastructure, electronic test and measurement, and satellite terminals. This device is a wideband fractional-N synthesizer that produces RF outputs from 57MHz to 14.6GHz and has very low phase noise performance. Compared with solutions that require multiple narrow-band GaAs voltage-controlled oscillators and PLLs, the device reduces power consumption by 50%, has a smaller footprint, and a simpler architecture, which saves BOM costs and shortens time to market. The device is developed based on the company's proprietary advanced SiGe BiCMOS process, which enables low bit error rates. The integrated PLL function provides fast frequency hopping and lock time (less than 50μs after proper configuration (including proper loop filter)). This device is fully supported by the company's comprehensive, easy-to-use PLL synthesizer design and simulation tool, ADIsimPLL, for evaluating lock time, phase noise, jitter, and other design considerations. The device can also be programmed by customers using the integrated SPI interface and control software.
