Murata Power Solutions' new miniature isolated 1W regulated single-output DC-DC converters in the MTC1 series are approximately one-third smaller than their predecessors, offering a nominal input voltage of 12 or 24 VDC, and a range of 2: The input range of 1 is nominal. Having such a wide input range can be used in designs with different nominal input voltages or where wide voltage deviations may occur. This series includes six single-output models that provide 3.3V, 5V, or 12VDC for 12VDC and 24VDC nominal inputs, respectively. Since the output of MTC1 is fully adjusted to within +/- 0.5% of the specified output, no additional adjustment components are required. The voltage adjustment pin allows the output voltage to be adjusted by +/- 10% to accommodate any special voltage requirements. The remote on / off pin disables the output to save application power. Input-to-output isolation complies with international safety isolation standard UL60950 (TBD). With its medical safety standard ANSI / AAMI ES60601-1 certification for 2 MOOPs, the converter is suitable for a variety of medical and healthcare applications. The company said that compared to competing products, MTC1 can be used at temperatures as high as 105C, while its PCB area has been reduced by 34%. Ann-Marie Bayliss, Product Marketing Manager, Murata Power Solutions, said: "MTC1 has a 34% smaller footprint, UL60950 reinforced insulation and compliance with the third edition of medical safety standards, providing enhanced product functionality in a miniature package. .
