TDK has introduced 30-75W TDK Lambda PYQ series DC-DC converters. The PYQ50 with an output power of 30-50W provides an ultra-wide 12:1 input range of 14VDC to 160VDC, and the 75W PYQ75 has an 8:1 input of 9-75VDC. These board mounting products are available in the industry standard quarter brick format with dimensions of 57.9mm x 36.8mm x 12.7mm (L x W x H). The converters are encapsulated in silica gel to provide a high level of shock and vibration resistance and are ideal for applications complying with EN 50155 (standard for electronic equipment used on rolling stock). Applications also include industrial and measurement equipment that require backup batteries or DC power.

The PYQ50 series has four nominal outputs, 5V, 12V, 24V and 48V, and the PYQ75 has five, 12V, 15V, 24V, 28V and 48V, which can adjust non-standard voltages from -20% to +15%. All models offer over current, output over voltage and over heat protection. Standard features include remote detection and remote on/off. The power module has an efficiency of up to 90% and can operate at ambient air temperatures up to -40 ° C to +105 ° C (PYQ50 is +100 ° C). Optional radiators facilitate convective and forced-air cooling, or modules can use cold plates for conduction cooling.

The PYQ50's input to output isolation is 3000VDC input to output, 2500VDC input to substrate, and 500VAC output to substrate. The PYQ75 has 3000VAC input-output, 2100VAC for input to substrate, and 1500VAC output to substrate. Certified to comply with IEC/UL/CSA/EN 62368-1 safety standards, low voltage and RoHS instructions with CE and UKCA marks. The PYQ and typical test units have been tested to railway standards EN 50155, EN 45545-2, EN 61373 and EN 50121-3-2.
